Last year was all about heavy makeup and bold looks, but 2020 is going to be the year of natural makeup and glow from within. Enhancing your natural beauty and ‘no-makeup makeup’ is getting more popular. So how do you achieve this effortless, yet empowering makeup look?
Start with moisturizer. After good skincare, any product applied on top looks great. Apply a thin layer of moisturizer onto your clean skin and give it a couple of minutes to sink in. The next step is getting rid of your dark circles and imperfections.
Foundation is too heavy for this look and unnecessary. Instead, apply a small amount of concealer under your eyes and on any spots and blemishes, you want to cover and use your fingers or a fluffy brush to blend it in.
When it comes to eyes, you want to accentuate them. Use a blending brush to apply eyeshadow to your lids. You can experiment when it comes to the color of the eyeshadow, but you can never go wrong with a light brown shadow in the crease and a light shadow on the lid.
Place a shimmery champagne color eyeshadow on the center of your lid, right above your pupil, to open up your eyes and make them look bigger and brighter. You can apply a coffee brown eyeliner to your lash line to define your eyes. The mascara is the most important step when it comes to eyes, as the lashes will frame your eyes and make your eyes look bigger.
Next, you want to apply blush and bronzer. This step will pull everything together. Apply the bronzer first using a big powder brush. Pick a shade that doesn’t have too much shimmer in it and isn’t too orange. You want the bronzer to create shadow and make you look sun-kissed.
Apply it right below your cheeks. Blush is something a lot of women neglect, but it will make you look younger, more awake and energized. Don’t be afraid to try cream blushes. They will make your skin look great and will sink into the skin, making it seem like you are naturally flushed.
Finish off the look with lipstick. Instead of swiping the product onto the lips, try tapping a small amount of product on the lips and blending it in with your fingers. This will create a light wash of color on your lips and it will look very natural and attractive.
